Website design for charities and social enterprises

Made to measure

One size does not fit all when it comes to websites. A simple marketing site is very different from an ecommerce platform. We'll work with you to identify your goals and challenges, recommend the perfect combination of features, and design a website that's as unique as your audience.

Accessible and inclusive

We believe in creating a web that works for everyone. More than 1 in 5 UK consumers has a disability and 75% of disabled people and their families have stopped using a business because of poor accessibility. We design websites that are accessible out of the box, conforming to Level AA of WCAG 2.1 as standard.

Mobile friendly

People use the web on an increasingly wide range of devices—desktops, laptops, tablets, smartphones—and rightly expect a tailored experience on each. Starting with mobile and scaling up to desktop, we design responsive websites that adapt to offer the best possible experience for every screen size.

Search engine optimised

While we can't promise to get your site to the 'top of Google' overnight (and no agency should) we will do everything we can to give it the best possible start. We'll build your site to be easily accessible to search engines, tune it to be as fast as possible, and optimise it for your target keywords and phrases.

Value for money

Our fees are set with modest charity budgets in mind and we promise to be honest and transparent about pricing. We'll make sure that you have everything you need and never try to sell you things that you don't.

For positive impact, not for profit.

Just like our clients, we're not in it for the money. Goodcircle is a social enterprise on a mission to help small charities and social enterprises. There are no shareholders to keep happy so our profits are reinvested in the business for the benefit of our clients.

Powered by WordPress

The best CMS for small charity and social enterprise websites.

Free and open source

WordPress is completely free, and it always will be. It's licensed under the Open Source GPL (General Public License) which means that you are free to use and modify it in any way you want, for as long as you want. WordPress is maintained by a worldwide community of independent designers and developers.

Flexible to meet your needs

From simple blogs to complex applications, WordPress powers more than 35% of the web. Beyond the standard publishing features that are built into WordPress, there's an incredible ecosystem of over 54,000 third-party plugins that add everything from contact forms to ecommerce.

Reliable and secure

WordPress has a dedicated team of security experts including lead developers and security researchers. The software is under constant development, with bug fixes and security patches included in regular core updates. Many web hosting providers will test and install these updates for you automatically.

Easy to make changes

No need to pay an expert to make simple changes to your website. Despite its power and flexibility, most of WordPress is as easy to use as a word processor. You can create, edit, and delete content on your website whenever you like with just a few clicks.

Easy to host

Lots of web hosting providers offer managed WordPress hosting with features that are designed to keep your website fast, secure, and up-to-date without you having to do anything. If you decide to move your website in the future, you'll have plenty of other providers to choose from.

Scalable and future-proof

WordPress is a flexible platform that can grow and adapt as your needs change. You might want to add new features, change the look and feel, move to a new hosting provider, or work with a different agency for design and development. All of that is possible with WordPress.

Website design process

1. Discover

We learn about your organisation, its people, its aims, and its challenges. We ask you lots of questions and try to put ourselves in your shoes.

2. Define

We consolidate all of the ideas into a clear plan with a list of objectives so that we know exactly what needs to be done and how we'll do it.

3. Develop

Based on everything that we learned in the previous stages, we work with you to design and build your website.

4. Deliver

We get everything ready for launch, perform final checks, deploy your new website, and monitor its performance.

Simple, honest pricing

No surprises

Get a fixed price quote before your project starts so that you know exactly what you'll pay and when.

No VAT

We're too small to charge VAT so you'll benefit from an immediate 20% saving compared to larger agencies.

No upselling

Everything you need and nothing that you don't. We always recommend the cheapest way to get the best result.
